Ashot Hovhanissian
Ashot Hovhanissian "Beyond the walls of our colony" in the city lived the other great. Ervand Kochar who, with his eternal pipe in his hands, was preaching honesty, often repeating - "Render to God the things that are God's, and render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's." Another Mohican - Vruir Galstian (this year he died at his 72), I think he was an "alien", a possessor of great inherent talent (with which he never knew what to do). Art is a jealous mistress, one must be careful, - we used to joke. There were a lot of them, and all where original and strange. Form the 70s up to the 80s many trials be fell our lot. In February of 1975 we took leave of Minas, whose tragic death shook everybody. Succumbing to fate, we went on working with great persistence, along with is always was art critic Henrik Igitian - the sole defender of "the lefts": "there are no "lefts" and "rights", there is real, high art", - he used to say.
